Savannah Tank and Equipment Corp. | Garden City, GA | Full-Time, Onsite | $70,000–$85,000
For more than 30 years, Savannah Tank has built custom ASME Section VIII pressure vessels, API 650 storage tanks, heat exchangers, and modular process equipment for leading companies in some of the most demanding industries in the country — chemical processing, water treatment, energy, food and beverage, pharma. We’ve earned our reputation on exceptional quality, code-compliant engineering, and on-time delivery.
Recent growth has us hiring a dedicated Project Manager to keep customer projects on track from PO award through final delivery.
Own the Process; Improve the Playbook
You’ll have real ownership of the work and flexibility in the tools and methods you use to do it. What matters is that customers get on-time, accurate updates about their tanks, the team has reliable information to work from, and tanks ship on the dates we promised.
What You’ll Own
You’ll drive every project from PO award through final delivery — keeping customers informed, internal teams aligned, and ship dates intact.
At Savannah Tank, a project includes all tanks in one PO — could be a single tank or twenty. Each individual tank is a job with its own job number. When the team asks, “What’s the status on job127?” — you will be able to answer on the spot, clearly, and accurately.

Specifically, you will:
- Be the customer’s main point of contact after the PO is awarded. Communicate progress, issues, change orders, and delivery timing clearly and professionally. Send regular updates with project photos.
- Maintain the project-level schedule — customer milestones, drawing release dates, fabrication start, target ship dates — and update it weekly.
- Track every job in flight — multiple tanks at different stages at any given time — through PRE FAB → FIT → TESTING → FINISHING, so you always know where each tank stands.
- Lead internal project meetings — clear agenda, decisions made, action items with named owners and due dates, follow-up communication issued same day. Time spent in these meetings should be highly productive and efficient; thus, you will be thoroughly prepared with focused topics in a logical order on the agenda.
- Lead recurring customer project reviews. Know what each customer cares about, come prepared, and walk them through progress, milestones, and changes with clarity and confidence.
- Defend the customer-promised ship date. Coordinate with production, engineering, and QC to keep things on track. When issues come up, work them with the people who can fix them — and bring problems to leadership already on a path to resolution.
- Stay on top of every input that affects a tank’s timeline — materials, drawings, QC schedules, vendor deliveries/services. You don’t run engineering, production, or procurement, but you do see the whole picture across departments; when something could move a ship date, you take it directly to the people who can address it.
- Coordinate change orders— work with Sales and Operations to determine and communicate the impact of changes on cost and schedule to the customer.
- Surface risks early — to the team internally and to customers when needed; don’t let a missed milestone be a surprise to anyone.
- Coordinate trucking and shipping logistics as projects approach completion.
- Keep accurate, organized records — trackers, customer correspondence, milestone dates, change orders — that match reality and support clear status reporting.
Required
- 3+ years managing multiple concurrent projects in custom fabrication, industrial manufacturing, job-shop production, construction, or a similar environment (adjacent experience welcome — production coordinators, schedulers, expediters, and construction PMs who can demonstrate the skills should apply)
- Degree in mechanical engineering, mathematics, or similar area of study, or 7+ years practical experience.
- Comfortable working in and around a shop environment (you’ll walk the floor regularly)
- Operates independently and brings problems to leadership already on a path to resolution
- Able to run focused, productive meetings — clear agenda, decisions made, time respected
- Comfortable holding peers accountable across departments — you push for what the project needs without burning bridges
- Customer-facing presence — comes prepared, answers questions on the spot, and represents Savannah Tank well in front of customers
- Ability to read and discuss fabrication drawings, customer specifications, and technical documents
- Disciplined and reliable project record keeping that reflects real life and the team can trust.
- Working knowledge of MS365 (Excel, Outlook, Word, SharePoint, Teams)
- Able to navigate ERP systems e.g., JobBOSS
- 8+ years of relevant project management experience
- Experience with ASME pressure vessels, API 650 tanks, or AWS structural welding code work
- Experience with custom/one-off fabrication versus high-volume production
- Background in chemical processing, energy, water treatment, or similar end markets
What makes this different
- Real ownership. Customers know you by name. Your job is project execution from PO to delivery — not status reporting up the chain.
- Tool flexibility. You’ll have Microsoft Office and our ERP (JobBOSS) on day one. Beyond that, we’re open to discussing tools that help you do the job well — we care more about the result than the brand on the software.
- A shop that does serious work. ASME-certified pressure vessels, API tanks, heat exchangers, and modular systems for demanding industries. Carbon steel, stainless, duplex, Monel, Inconel, Alloy 20. Real engineering complexity and craftsmanship.
- Salary: $70,000–$85,000, depending on experience
- Health insurance
- 401(k) with company match
- Vacation, sick, and holiday pay
- Onsite at 1517 Telfair Road, Garden City, GA
- Full-time
